Microsoft announced that Windows 10 will be a free upgrade to current users of Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows Phone 8.1!
That’s great news. There are a few caveats — the computer or device that you are upgrading will have to be able to run Windows 10, meaning sufficient RAM, hard disk space, device drivers, etc). You will have up to one year to get the upgrade after Windows 10 officially launches.
That begs the question – when will it launch? There’s no official word on that other than it will be “Late 2015”. A few weeks ago Microsoft made its Consumer Preview version of Windows 10 available for download, so it’s being tested and refined right now.
