Officially Released on July 29, 2015.
The official release date for Windows 10 is only a few weeks away… July 29, 2015. Here are some last minute facts and tips about it so you’ll be “in the know.”
1. If you haven’t already, reserve your free copy now. Just click on the Windows 10 icon in the bottom right corner of your computer and enter your email address. You will get an invitation to download it sometime after 7-29-15. It’s highly likely that you won’t be able to get your copy on July 29th. The roll-out begin on that date, and could take a few weeks.
2. In the past week Microsoft has announced that there are some limitations on who gets a free upgrade to Windows 10. They originally said that almost everyone would get it. The wording is still somewhat vague, but it looks like normal Windows 7 and Windows 8 and 8.1 users will receive free upgrades to the new operating system. And all Enterprise users and businesses will have to pay for it. Clear as mud, right?
3. Windows 10 is coming with Microsoft Edge, the successor browser to Internet Explorer. If you’re interested in finding out more about it, click here to visit Microsoft’s Edge Page.
