A new type of calendar program was released about 4 weeks ago in the iPhone Store. Really good news if you have an iPhone or iPad. A version for most other phones (Android) is in the works.
There are over 5,000 calendar-related apps in the iPhone Store, so it’s hard to believe that one more is even close to being noteworthy. This one is!
Mynd syncs with your existing calendars and uses location, contact, map, traffic, weather, social network, Evernote, Facebook, and LinkedIn data to present a contextual snapshot of your day.
Mynd learns your favorite locations, like home and work, and can learn new locations by keyword. Enter “Gym” enough times and Mynd will figure out where the Gym is based on previous appointments and you’ll never need to enter the address again. The app can also dial into conference calls for you, enter conference codes right from your calendar, and show you any Evernote notes, clippings, or documents you need for any meeting you have on your calendar. Even when you’re not using it, Mynd’s “dashboard” shows you upcoming appointments, people to get in touch with, weather, upcoming events and locations, and more all in one nicely tiled view.
I’ve been using Mynd for the last 3 weeks and love it. It took me a week or so to really get it, so don’t give up if you’re not super impressed right away. It’s available now in the iPhone Store for FREE! No ads. No hidden catches.
