Whenever I set up a new computer for my clients or family, the very first thing I do is uninstall Acrobat Reader, and then install Foxit Reader. Why?
Acrobat Reader is a bloated program that takes up a lot of space on the hard drive and is slow to load. When I double click on a PDF file to view it, the document doesn’t show up for 5 to 10 seconds. Foxit Reader is a very small program and loads the same document in under 1 second. It’s very fast and easy to use. And like its Acrobat counterpart, is free.
Foxit Reader goes way beyond the basics, and offers features for free that you have to pay $200 per license to get with Acrobat. For example, highlighting, crossing or underlining text; drawing shapes; stamping and filling out PDF forms with a built-in typewriter; and insert, edit or rename bookmarks.
Give it a try and you won’t go back. Go to the website to read more and download it.
